Introduction

At Greenville Alliance Church, we believe strongly in God’s amazing power to transform lives.  We believe that transformation is a life-long process as we learn to obey Him, serve Him and ultimately love Him.  In GROW Kids Ministry, we strive to teach kids how to allow Christ to begin working that transformation in each area of life, providing a strong foundation upon which a kid can build a life-time of growth in wisdom, strength, and stature.

We have a variety of ministries, just as we have a variety of kids with varied interests and gifts.  Our goal is to meet your kid where he or she is, embracing their unique qualities where they are.  To reach that goal, we strive to build strong, positive relationships with all kids and encourage positive relationships between peers. We want kids to be showered with grace as they grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ and learn that their worth and value come from Him alone. We want to see all kids come to a saving relationship with Jesus, and we strive to see their faith become authentic through their actions, words, and service to others.

In GROWKids, we aim for your kid to learn and grow in a fun, but safe atmosphere.  Our facilities are equipped for safety, our volunteers have background checks and clearances, and our staff is CPR/ First Aid and AED certified.  We love your children and it shows!

Luke 2:52: “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.”

GROW Nursery

Nursery care is available during the 10:30 am worship service on Sunday mornings currently. Our goal is to provide a happy, healthy, and safe environment where parents can feel comfortable leaving their child while they are in worship, class, or serving elsewhere in the church. We want to show kids from a very young age the love that God has for them through our time, care, and words. GROW Nursery is for infants to kids age 3.  At age 3, kids are encouraged to join the GROW Kids Ministry.

Matthew 19:14: “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these’.”

GROW  Kids Sunday School

Our kids Sunday School takes place from 9:30 a.m. – 10:20 a.m. on Sundays. We are following a program called “DiscoveryLand Global” through the Alliance Kids National Office. DL Sunday School is for children age 3 through 6th grade. Our groups are broken up for Bible lessons as follows: 3 years old - Kindergarten; 1st - 2nd grade; 3rd-4th grade; 5th-6th grade.

Our desire in our Sunday School program is to make disciples of all kids through teaching kids to love God and love others. We focus on learning the Truth of what the Word of God says and how to live out what we believe in our daily lives by reading the Bible daily and practicing other spiritual disciplines. We want kids to have a relationship with Jesus and be excited to share their faith with their friends.

DiscoveryLand Sunday School incorporates Worship, learning about others who serve God around the World as “missionaries,” solid Bible teaching (going through the whole Bible in a 3 year scope and sequence), Discover Time which introduces Bible truths in fun and engaging ways, and review times. We laugh, learn, and love Jesus and each other!

Kids will learn Bible passages and Truths from the Old Testament in the summer and fall quarters, then learn from the New Testament in the Winter and Spring quarters. There will be Take-Home devotions and family challenges each week to continue studying God’s Word as a family all week long!

Colossians 2:6-7: “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

GROW Kids Church and Junior Kids Church

Our Kids and Junior Kids Church takes place during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. DL Kids Church is from kids age 3 through 5th grade. Kids are dismissed halfway through the service, during the sermon time for teaching of their own. We follow the DiscoveryLand Global curriculum program for Kids Church, as well. During this time, kids will learn Biblical truths through a Discover Time activity and a Bible lesson that teaches them to love God, read and know His Word, and live out the faith they have daily, not just at church on Sundays.

Kids will learn Bible passages and Truths from the Old Testament in the summer and fall quarters, then learn from the New Testament in the Winter and Spring quarters. There will be Take-Home devotions and family challenges each week to continue studying God’s Word as a family all week long!

2 Peter 3:18: “ But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.”

GROW Kids Sunday Night Group

Kids Sunday Nights is a program that includes several elements important to Family Ministry and growth. KSN is for elementary school-aged kids. Kids and leaders gather from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evenings to serve the church, learn more about the Bible and its relevance to their lives, and build relationships with one another in order to support and encourage each other as they grow. Our main, regular service to the church happens on Sunday nights, which gives kids an opportunity to give back to the church but also take ownership of the building as not just their parents’ church or the older generations’ church, but their own. We always have fun, answer deep and provoking questions about faith and the Bible, and of course, have a snack!

1 Timothy 4:6: “If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed.”

GROW 56  Kids

This group is specifically for 5th and 6th grade students. The students will meet during the Sunday School hour (9:30 - 10:20 am) and on Sunday evenings (6:30 - 8:00 pm). The purpose of this ministry is to help preteens build on the foundation of faith laid in Kids Ministry and at home, root their hearts, minds and souls in the knowledge and wisdom of the Word, build young leaders who know their calling as ambassadors of Christ, firm their identity in Christ, and transition from Kids Ministry toward Youth Ministry. The students in this group will participate in Bible discussions and studies geared toward their ages and spiritual formation and be encouraged to serve in the church by learning about their identity and God-designed gifts.

Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

GROW Kids in Missions

GROW Kids seeks to teach kids to serve others in a variety of ways. We want to show kids that no matter their age or size, they can serve God and serve others with their time, talents, and treasures. Kids are encouraged to participate in service projects around the community, such as park clean-ups, visiting a nursing home, and sorting school supplies and backpacks for kids in need. We also frequently send cards to encourage International Workers around the world, color pictures or cards for shut-ins from our church, or collect goods needed for various ministries around the community.

Incorporated into our Sunday morning lessons are “Missions Moments” and “Quarterly Mission Experiences,” during which we learn about churches, Chiristians and international work being done to reach others for Christ around the world, specifically where the CMA workers are sent. We encourage questions and exploration of what we believe and what others believe as part of the discovery of Who God is and who we are as His children.

Each week on Sunday nights, our kids serve the church as a group.

In June, our 4th-6th graders are invited to join a “Kids on a Mission” short week of service to learn more about what it means to be servants like Jesus in a variety of avenues. For three days, we focus on serving in the Local Church, the Local Community and the International Community.

Galatians 6:10: “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
